A peek behind the curtain

It Begins and Ends with Animals

Born on a ranch in California, Jacquelin Boggs grew up in the suburbs of Ohio. She was that “horse-loving girl”—begging her parents for her own horse from the age of 3 until they caved when she was 9 years old. She chased her dreams of riding in the Young Riders (Junior Olympics) and rode and trained horses for over 10 years. She experienced the highs and lows of being a professional athlete while trying to keep her equestrian partner sound, fit, and ready for competition.

What does a horse-crazy girl do for a career? Become an equine veterinarian, of course! With nearly two decades of experience practicing and working in many facets of the animal health industry, Jacquelin has helped horse owners and business owners through the challenges and triumphs of veterinary medicine. She knows what it is like to be a true healer—one who cares for both her human owners and animal patients.

Jacquelin suffered compassion fatigue first-hand after her beloved German Shepherd, Deuce, was diagnosed with bone cancer. He underwent amputation and chemotherapy, resulting in almost two and a half years of full-time care. While she would do it all over again, Deuce’s journey was physically and emotionally draining. It wasn’t until a few months after his passing that Jacquelin put a name to her overwhelming exhaustion—Compassion Fatigue. As she sought ways to heal herself from compassion fatigue she was struck by the fact that fellow veterinarians were silently suffering from the same condition. This was more common among caregivers than she realized and that is what sparked her passion to help heal healers.

Here is Jacquelin’s WHY—What is yours?

Here is Jacquelin’s WHY—What is yours?

Currently, Jacquelin is pursuing one of her dreams—teaching and storytelling from the stage—as she moves from actively engaging as a veterinarian, to a keynote speaker. Her passion now is taking care of her tribe, the front-line healers giving their all mentally and emotionally. Jacquelin recognizes that veterinarians and other healers give unselfishly to improve the lives of the animals and patients in their care, but often at their own expense.

Jacquelin is committed to inspiring and empowering healers to change their paradigm with tangible tools and mindset shifts. She is passionate about inspiring healers to pursue their passions and tap into their WHY. Jacquelin is actively addressing the issue of veterinary burnout and compassion fatigue. Her takeaways extend to anyone in the healing or caregiving professions.
